Atmospheric Transformation: Designing the Night
Burleigh Beach Designs led the comprehensive renovation of Platinum Nightclub, reimagining the venue's atmosphere and functionality. The project involved the strategic redesign of three distinct bar areas, the introduction of new intimate booth and seating zones, and the creation of the exclusive 'Gold Room' private function space with its dedicated bar.
Creating a nightlife venue is about orchestrating a complete sensory experience – lighting, sound, materiality, and flow combine to craft a setting where memories are made and social connections flourish.
Design Response: Experience & Functionality
Our design focused on enhancing the patron experience through carefully considered materiality, lighting, and flow. Wayfinding was integrated using a light-toned, non-slip vinyl flooring, selected to subtly reflect the club's signature blue lighting theme and guide movement intuitively through the space.
The sensory experience was heightened with upgraded laser lighting systems, enhanced acoustics through sound system improvements, and a redesigned DJ booth forming the venue's energetic core. Material selection played a key role, with durable Corian benchtops featuring accent lighting improving bar service efficiency and aesthetics. In seating areas, select fabrics and tactile 3D wall surfaces were employed to create depth and visual interest under the dynamic nightclub lighting.
Beyond aesthetics, the redesign addressed operational needs, enhancing staff functionality behind the bars and throughout the venue for smoother service delivery. The result is a sophisticated and immersive hospitality environment designed for memorable nights.
