Design Response: Indoor-Outdoor Continuum & Climate
Key to the design intent is a strong indoor-outdoor continuum, reminiscent of how earlier beach houses embraced the breeze and blurred boundaries between living spaces and the natural surrounds. Large sliding doors, wraparound decks, and sheltered outdoor seating create seamless transitions, channeling the ocean air and connecting occupants to the coastal atmosphere.

Materiality & Construction
Beyond its nostalgic cues, the design is firmly anchored in sustainable principles. Considered shading strategies protect openings from harsh subtropical sun, while lightweight construction aids thermal responsiveness. Water-harvesting features and efficient fixtures address the environmental realities of coastal living, and robust marine-grade finishes ensure a low-maintenance building envelope.
